* much less / still less
這個結構一般用在否定表達中，意為"更不用說……"。
類似的說法還有to say nothing of, not to speak of, not to mention, let alone等，意思相近，肯定句和否定句都可以用。
例1）He knows little of mathematics, and still lessof chemistry.
譯文：他幾乎不懂數(shù)學，更不用說化學了。
例2）In China, water is so contaminated that in some areas it is unsafe even to touch, not to speak ofuse for irrigation or drinking.
中國部分地區(qū)水污染程度之重，甚至達到接觸都不安全的程度，更不用說用于灌溉或者飲用。
例3）Some people never read a newspaper, let alonea book.
譯文：有些人從未讀過報紙，更不用說書本了。
例4）He is the most intelligent, not to mention handsome, people I know.
譯文：他是我知道的最聰明的人之一，而且他還很英俊。
